Worth getting for the two Scars tracks. Both sides of the Adult/ery / Horrorshow from 1979 predicted great things for the band. Hard to believe perhaps, but the band were touted by the NME as ‘the next big thing’ for about two months in 1980. When the Author! Author! album came out in 1981 it was a total anti-climax. They appeared to have jumped on board the new romantic bus. Oh well.
At least we still have that glorious single to enjoy – a miracle of post-punk and very hard to place or pigeonhole. Perfromances and song, absolutely stellar.
